This ird DP301.010 is not fixing itself in the stream. The green light keeps on flashing every 5secs forever. I resurrected this with wall, first I erased the flash few times. It won't do the the sector erase (the first 60000 bites). always the window comes up saying sector erased failed. After writing the first 60000 bites on flash2 and closing wall and unplugging and replugging the receiver the green light does not go off as it says on the resurrecting guide. Either it stays on solid green or it starts flashing every 2-3 seconds.
After resurrecting I'm able to use Jkeys2.01 to write flash U23 after complete erase few times. Then I go to flashU22 and erase it few times and apply the bin. After all this I write Virgin eprom. The whole session with Jkeys did not close Jkeys or unplugged the receiver.
When I hook up the receiver to the working sat line and power it up. the green light blinks fast and starts fashing every few seconds. During the course seems like the receiver is downloading software because it goes off for few seconds then comes back on. It shouldn' take more than 45 mins but it keeps going on and on.
Could you please tell me if this is Tsops or Eprom problem?
The flashes I am using are from my other working dp301.10 receiver. I am just cloning to this receiver. I checked these flashes with flashedit2 and are OK. The receiver does not have any locks on. Thanks

If it worked before you tried to clone, suspect corrupted flash files, after rsurrecting, light should come on then go off when plugged in with no card in it.

I bought this receiver from somene who I shouldn't have trusted. This receiver got a hole cut for Jtaging. I don't see any lock or points where the person could have put the lock. when I got the receiver all it did was, the green would come on and go off. Thats all. So I tried flashing the tsops from the ftp site because the one the person had on did not match any info to the receiver. I erased everything tried resurrecting with wall. The green light comes on after writing the bootsector. Even after unplugging and replugging the green light comes on and stays on steady or it flashes every couple of seconds.
The flashes writen to the tsops are confirmed good and to the board cfg build.
The flashes I got are from my other working receiver. So I thought if tsops are corrupt from the site then this should do the trick. Unfortunately The receiver just keep on flashing green light every 5 secs.

Stream without a card in for a while see if it clears, might even erase the ECM sector then stream it w/o card.

Skinerd, What is the purpose of the eprom ?
What does it do?

It is a small storage memory, things like last channel watched, switch type, and other system variables are stored there.

Skinerd, I took reading of my tsops and varified with flash edit. It matches the info I flashed. How can I varify the info on the Eprom I flashed? Is it possible to erase the Eprom chip first?. The green light been flashing for around 10 hours now. I don't think it is going to do any good if I just keep it hooked up. On some posts I read that the Eprom could be flagged. And if it is then the IRD won't update. I see it as the last thing that maybe I could before I head down to the repairman. Thanks for your help.

Do boxes update with a softlock on them?
mine receives the updates but never finishes intalling, tried leaving it updating a whole weekend, stayed on the "do not unplug" window.

Does Eprom on DP310.010 autherise or control tsops if they can be updated?. How to unflag eprom?. My Tsop Flash1 is not updating no matter how long the IRd is hooked up to the sat feed.

Use flashedit, make a virgin eeprom file, load and try that. If that won't work, erase the ECM sector, (light should come on steady) and stream without a card in.

I did all that probably more than 10 times, After keeping the IRd hooked up to sat for more than 12 hours I check with Jkeys that Flash1 never got updated. I can write to both Tsops no problem and check with jkeys everything looks good. If I erase the sector and try updating nothing changed. Which tells maybe defective eprom or something. Also I can flash Eprom without problems. Now the question is why the hell this receiver isn't fixing itself in the stream. My Sat feed 100% working.

Light flashing, won't update, light on steady should update.

Humm..it sounds like they might have tried to install a lock on that receiver. Check for the cut trace by TSOP 1. That will cause the symptoms you are describing.
Here's a close-up of the area:

Notice the "cut" is actually a round drilled area. I always "drill" with an exacto knife that has a dull end on it, instead of slicing. Less chance of slicing through the wrong trace.
Here's some other pictures of the installed lock on a 301.10:

Check around all those areas and see if they didn't fubar something.

Zorlac, thanks for the >jpgs. I did not find any signs of tampering on the board top or bottom. IS there anything else I can do?

Houdini,
Were you able to fix your ird? I have one behaving the same way.3100 EAED board.I have done everything possible to it but it keeps flashing.I am about to conclude this particular board(EAED) version has factory problems.
Let me know if you fixed yours and what you did as I am not going to give up on this one.
