2000 neon Automatic tran'ey

I have a (year) 2000 neon that the trammisiom start'ed making a funny noise,, is's like a churpping noise an it will not shift up through the gears when in drive , i can make it shift by manuel up shifting it and working the throttle at the same time ,, question is,,what could the churpping noise be ? the filter ans fulid has been changed every 30.000 miles ,

Ah, the famous Chrysler transmission.......been a picky tranny it's whole life. Requires special tranny fluid called ATF+3 and/or ATF+4.

Expensive to have rebuilt too. Upwards to 2K. New is close to that as well. Used is cheaper, but get a warranty. (Greenleaf offers a lifetime warranty for a higher price).

sounds like you are in limp mode ! Is your check engine light on?If -yes =codes in tcm ! if you have a 604 trans ( shitbox trans) I work for jeep now,but when I worked for dodge ,I saw alot of those blow up really good,pin fall out of ring carrier and cracks case , imputs and output sensors ,hard seals or frt pumps leaking or whinning etc.put a scanner on and set whats happening and check your fld too.
