This is the basic problem...bought a used ird. (301-010) I couldnt back up flashs. Started reading and researching. I erased Sa3 3 times and restreamed. That went well. Now I'm up to software P226! I saved flash 1&2. Went to save eeprom and I get the message "LSI control unavailable, cannot access eeprom"
Downloaded Wall 2.2 and downloaded FlashEdit 2.0a.2 and hex workshop3.11
This is my first time using these 3 pieces of software and I know I'm at the point where it's possible to f up my ird.
Please step me through fixing this ird. thanks.

Before we get to exited does the ird work yet? Power light turn on etc.???
Second, Eeprom is no biggie, you can create a new one in flashedit from the tsop backups anyway.

The unit would not power up and the remote would not work. But now after erasing SA3 and restreaming it powers up and I can save the memory. Power light comes on. Just wont save EEPROM. Gets the message "LSI control unavailable, cannot access eeprom"

I would not play with wall on this as your tsops are not goofed up, Dual flash 301's can be a major pain if the flashes get corrupted. LSI control unavailable is usually a sign of the receiver not booting properly from a good tsop, However in your case this is not the problem since the unit is working. It has me wondering if it is a jtag issue. If you have a backup of both tsops open them in flashedit, Look to see if the files you saved are good, IE ird and boxkeys match the receiver. You can then click on the save option and select "Create virgin eeprom image" for that ird as well then so a eeprom backup is not critical here. I am more concerned as to why you are unable to access the eeprom chip.

Opened flash edit. IRD no. is same as sticker on back of IRD exept it has a -50. Box keys are the same as what jkeys says.
The CRC info is highlighted in green. It says 06B1. Is this normal?
Build config - EAFA / Bootstrap - 13EB / S/W Version - P226
All other cells have info in them.
Went to do a "Save Virgin EEPROM" and it asked for a 4 character code off the Motherboard sticker. I'll have to open the box and get this later
Still can't save EEPROM in JKeys. Which way to go from here?

Get the code and create the image I would guess it would be EAFA because that is your build config for the tsop, I beleive (but please don't quote me) that the eeprom would be the same. When you get the numbers create a virgin eeprom and write that to the receiver. You will lose all settings you have. I.E. channel order, favorites list. ect.

I have changed about 5 bad eeprom chips now, (not counting the ones sent to me with a broken pin 7), eeprom chips do fail.

If he can't read the eeprom, I doubt he'll be able to write over it, worth a try I suppose, but don't think it's going to work.

I looked in the Echoestar tsop bank. IRD is 301-010. My board config. is EAFD. Would #32 in the tsop bank be the best file to get?

Your saying the receiver will work even if you can't save the eeprom? Is the eeprom the same as the tsop?

I'm not psychic, plug it in and try it...Yes it should work just fine, the inability to read the eeprom dosen't mean you have a bad eeprom. you cant hurt it by plugging it in and trying. If it took the stream updade and appears to be working now, it updated the eeprom also. The eeprom is quite a bit different from the tsop.
