I used the magicPGM software to program the MC and it worked properly ( finally ) yet now I have a ratings password set ?
Receiver is a 4900. How can I find out the password ?
Thanks!

Do a search on this site for 4900 passwords or just passwords and it will bring up a buch of info. Tried and it works. (see search button above)

well I got it..sort of
on line NVM 01C0 I have:
CC00000 0000000000000000000 ( well a bunch of 0's )
it then says to try that number in reverse
well, I tried 204 ( CC hex = 204 in dec ), 0204, 0402 or maybe 1212 or 2121 ? anyone has a clue as to how I should read that number ?
thanks!

I pulled the password off of a 4700 converted to a 4900 in the memory dump screen, the receiver even had current firmware. It was line NVM but I forget exactly which one of those it was, go through the NVM lines and look for a number that will look like this x3x3x3x3 The x's represent the numbers that your password are but they are inverted, I will demonstrate what it would look it and what it would be. If you had 13234353, the two and the one are inverted so the first two numbers of the password would be 21 and the 4 and the 5 are inverted so the second set of numbers would be 53 Giving you the password of 2153. Hope this helps, If you have all zeros all the way through there, You could always try to find a backup tsop from the tsop files that has a matching build configuration and replace the tsop and eeprom which would in turn loose your password.

Like in flashedit noof? Are do you mean as in hard reset? I don't believe the hard reset method works anymore, I have tried on serveral recievers and can never get it. I about crapped when I pulled that password off of the memory dump! I have tried on other receivers and couldn't get it that way.

Mem dump still works on 2800 and 4900 dish,at least on my units. They're latest firmware too.Still working on Bev2700/3100 as well. I know that 301-013 latest firmware doesn't allow for password reset/clear with mem dump, but I'm not sure what other units/firmware are affected.

I think I tried it on a 3000 for sure and I can't remember what other receivers I tried it on. Couldn't get it to work with the 3000 the lady finally remembered what the code was thank god.
