While I was trying to redo my 6000u reciever to convert over to bev my cat jumped on my keyboard and now when I try and program the eeprom I get a jkeys error that says "error programing EEprom at offset 0x0". Is this repairable if so How

I can tell you how to deal with your cat - after all, he started this mess - but can't say on the receiver.
Try sending a PM to Skinerd, or one of our other resident IRD gurus.

I don't know what you or the cat could have done to harm the eeprom.
Were you able to program it before the cat jumped on the KB?
Eeprom chips do fail, I have changed a few.

when I first connect the jtag and start up jkeys it reads everything ok but as soon as I try programming it everything fails

and yes I was able to program the eeprom before this happened

Then I doubt eeprom is bad. Have you tried grounding pad1 of the jtag port?

Try that or, start jkeys and then plug in receiver, then very quickly, like withing a couple seconds, hit detect, I just open jkeys and plug in the IRD then quickly hit enter, sometimes this method will allow jkeys complete control without grounding pad 1, but not always.
