I have a problem using a multi switch

I have a problem using a multi switch. This is my set up, one magic card, one 2800 Dish IRD, two DTV 18” single LNB double feeds, one tuned into 110, and the other tuned into 119, the multi switch is a microyal SW-21. The MC is working fine, except for locals, that’s another problem, the real problem is that the IRD is not recognizing the multi switch, I run the switch test, and still the IRD reads no switch connected. The IRD also does strange things, like keeps listing the wrong sat for the 110 no matter how I change the sat menue selection, right now I just have the 119 connected and all is fine, except I had to fine tune the tiers because I have one of those old IRDs which can’t handle the default number of channels in MC. I have a feeling that I bought the wrong multi switch.

SW21 sounds like the right switch for your application, may you have a bad one, which is not uncommon.

it sounds like he may have one dish pointed at a wrong sat. try takeing the multiswitch off and getting the 110 on your receiver from one dish and the 119 on the other dish. after you get both working as singles then hook up your switch and do a switch test.

thanks for the input, figured it out, or you could say I read the posts more carefully. I just left the dish 300, 500, etc.. unchecked and it found the switch. Now on to the locals.
