Neo Myth

I belive at this point the NEO is a myth. There has been no posts on there web site detailing the sale date of the product.

I have read August then 1st week of September but still nothing. I tmight be a way to have people hold off from buying other competors product. "Vindictive"

They claim to have posted users guides etc.. prior to product launch to show they are up and up. Yet no updates as to when the product will ship. If they are having manufautrung problems they would state so on there web site yes?

What do you all think?

The people on this board who have been beta-testing have said it is the best emulator they've ever used (Rom10 mode), so I'm thinking the delay is due to manufacturing difficulties or because they know that without any Nagra 2 functionality they're just another dss rev. My 2 cents.

I don't think anything underhanded is going on unless there were some design plans stolen or copied from the rev guys without permission. I think the NEO is real and it probably works just as good or better than rev cards do. Due to parts cost to build and timing of release I don't think the NEO will ever be competitive though. It will be twice as expensive as the MC and I'm pretty confident that when needed, the MC will emulate NagraII. The NEO is just too little too late. The only way they have a chance of occupying a significant portion of the testing market is if the MC doesn't support NagraII and the NEO does. And as acp63 pointed out, if their failure to release or meet claims the NEO guys have already made is indicative of what their support is going to be like, then your not gonna want to get stuck with one of these. Mili claims the NEO is nothing more than a fancy rev card and he would know. These guys at NEO have already failed to follow through with claims and advertising that one of the 'developers' posted at this very site. That makes them look like a bad investment to me.

I am beggining to agree with JT, yet I have wondered if it is not a myth myself. I noticed that they claim it operates on 500 mhz (they make it sound as if this is the frequency for the communications and not the size of the atmega chip which would be what? A 512?) They must have made this mistake or I just interpreted wrong because nothing communicated at this high of a freq. It has to be the size of the chip rounded down.

Milli did a pretty good review of the NEO, read it.

I went and looked at their "Official Support Site" and found what looked like a dying site full of youngsters with glowing reviews of the product. You can find my post with milli's.

well about a week ago i was doing some reading at maestra and came across a thread where someone named niobi who said the they were from dssneo sent an email spouting the greatness of the so called card that will end all other cards and how they have been really open about the hardware and software of the neo and implied that the people who created the dssrev are the same people who created the magic card, so i smell alot of bullshit comming down wind from dssneo, they have a lot of people spouting the praises of the neo card but have they given one to mili or the mod's to evaluate.......the neo people come here to get some free ad time but they have never put up, i wish they would just shut up.

They had a mod / admin spouting the same shit at their official site last week too. The site looked like it was a dying dave site that would not go with the winds of change and seemed to be run by a bunch of really young kids. It seems like it died since it is now for sale. Don't know what they (neo) will do now probably nothing, milli really tore them apart in his post and now it is coming out that he was right on the target on every count.

The whole thing seemed like a Mickey Mouse operation from the start. They had a bunch of spammers on various forums including this one praising neo like it was the second coming. All of whom have mysteriously disappeared. Maybe before they start a PR campaign they should work on actually getting the product to market. Can you say Vaporware ?

the neo is coming into the game way to late unless there is a nagra two hack if not then its not worh investing in another hyped up dssrev card that they will eventually not support just like what is happening with the dssrev , but dont mention this at the official dssrev site they will ban you or delete your post for even mentioning that the neo is just a hyped up dssrev card

as i recall mili had some sour words to say about the neo...I think he said something along the lines of it being a more expensive to produce dssrev, and MC can do everything it can and more for cheaper....search around...like everyone else said, it has just come out way too late.
