I have a chance to buy a brand new 6000 model still in the box for $150.00. Comes with 1 receiver, 1 rom card (rom unknown, dealer won't show it to me. it is a blue card) 2 sat dishes and 2 switches. Me and the dealer were the first ones to open the box so it is all new and never been in the system. What I'm wondering is if it is worth buying. It is on clearence at a sears dept. store.

Hell yes buy it. Its still a great receiver, the only thing you can't get are DISH hd channels. Use that sucker for BEV if you have an hdtv or at the very least ebay that baby. That is a hell of a deal regardless.

good deal. the rom should be a rom 10 and it will be open since never in the stream. will have dolby digital too even tho no hd on dish now. can convert as others say to bev and get hd that way they have more hd anyway. or buy it and i will give ya $225 for it. pm me if ya want to turn it.
