PVR junkie here so I will tell you what I know based on equipment I actually own and use.

UTV working great AT THIS TIME with HU and 3Ms. UTV is interesting because there is supposed to be a software update soon that is SUPPOSED to make them only work with P4s. It hasn't happened yet, but the last I heard was it supposed to be comming down on 3-14-03. As always, no one except Dave and in this case Microsoft really knows for sure about when this upgrade is actually going to happen, and what it will really do, so stay tuned. I will tell you this though, because my sub is on a UTV, I was one of the unfortunate who received a P4. This ended up costing me my subbed bin on my P3, as they shut it down. I was p1ssed, but that's the way my luck goes. Ah what the heck so it meant I have to throw Mili $50 bucks every few months for the time being. I have my UTV on the bench at this time hacking away at the hard drive. That's a can of worms that is beyond the scope of one post.

Replay TV and Tivo standalones....both work with HU and 3Ms.

I sold my DirecTivo about 6 months or so ago, but at that time it was fully "HU and 3M" compliant. :D ;)

I would be happy to help out if Mili would like to start a seperate PVR forum here. The stuff I'm learning about the UTV is wild. It only has a ROM, so there doesn't seem to ever be any hope of flashing this thing with a JTAG  The hard drive uses CE operating system, and appears to be locked with a password. Looks difficult at this point, but hey that's all part of the fun! If I didn't have this to work on, I might have to watch TV!

why not do a rom dump on the utv? then program a compatible eprom to replace the rom.
