You will need some new equipment to test dish.
There are a lot of informative threads here for new testers. read them and decide what system you want to use before you buy anything.
The equipment is not usually compatable with different systems and you don't want to buy things you are not going to use.
Generally the only thing you can use is the dish from DTV and you will need 2 of them to get all the channels.

At least you are in the right section.....emulation is the way to go!
In the same breath, you don't need to program that card if you emulate.

Your old programmer will only work if it has both the 3.5795 and 3.6864 Mhz crystals and a jumper.

Bev & Dish on the same dish...yes anything can be done but is it worth the effort, NO!......and especially if you are just getting started.

Here is what you need:
[1] sell the card and buy beer
[2] a max&mel emulator
[3] a receiver with the boxkeys (most can be flashed to BEV or DISH)
[4] a P133 or better computer with one 16550 COM port and a floppy drive
[5] your old DTV dish pointed at 119W (gets most of the channels) add another and a SW21 later)

I'm not sure if you are going to Emulate, but if you are and need to get a computer
get one with Windows on it. I use a 166mhz, 64ram, Windows98.
That way you can run Yvous(Windows) or one of the other programs including Dos off a floppy.
If you are not going to Emulate then this is the wrong section.

Cancom is right on. Much easier to do, less problems, more fun, less programming, more time to watch TV and have a beer, or whatever. If you want to do two receivers, just get a puter with two serial ports, or add one.
