i am curious, i have done a bit of reading about programing plastic. and from what i gather, you have to continualy update your card when the event id's change? well how often does that occur? right now i am using a magic card, and since their latest update i havent had to reprogram again. How often do you have to reprogram plastics?

i want to learn as much as possible, if something happens to where the magic goes down, i want to be prepared. :)

there no way to tell in advance how often you will have to update a card...when you start lossing chanels or when ppv or events ask you to pay for them then your string on the card need to be updated. for me the shortist has been to update within a week of program and the longest has been a month without updating .....hope this helps.

Quick and dirty how to:

Before starting to program the card you will need the following:

A. A virgin rom image for your provider
B. Tier patch made with mrtm or your favorite program
C. Current PPV patch
D. Any current patches for ecm’s
E. A up-to-date blocker with your custom password applied

1: Open Nagraedit, plug your Cam (card) into your ISO programmer.

2: Go up the Card Option and do a “one step backup” if this is the first time you have read the card.

3: Go up the Card Option and do a "One Step Clean"

4: Open a Fresh Virgin image for your provider.

5: Now go to the "Patch Editor" Tab.

6: Open Tiers Patch.

7: Once open, select Test Patch, make sure you receive 0 errors, select Run Patch.

8: Now repeat step 6 and 7 except instead of opening the Tiers patch, Open each patch you need to apply doing your Blocker patch with your custom password last, Test & Run.

9: Go back to your Data Editor Tab.

10: Input your IRD Number, Boxkeys, TimeZone, Zip Code, Black out String, Public Keys.

11: When all the information is correct, click on "Write to Card".

12: Try to read card, You should not be able to if lock is working correctly.

13: Enjoy!
