I only heard of one reciever that has a epg.. And right now i can't think of it. Most people are using the pansat 2500 or the fortec ultra. both are easy to flash and there is many channel lists to choose for them. these ird's seem to have the most support (quick fix) I have both and personally like the ultra has faster channel change and seems to have less switching problems also is the cheaper of the two.
Good luck,

I just got a Digiwave 6800 for $122 US off fleaBay. Took me about 45 minutes to get up and running, I'm using the 10-04 fix. Works great for B*V - with EPG and picture-in-graphics display - but not sure about DN....EPG may not work, haven't checked it yet.
Anyway, great for the price and the picture is pretty nice, too.....

HI! I have a pansat 2500a & fortec star lifetime but have flashed quite a few fortec ultra`s as well, out of these three I prefer the pansat 2500a remote works better than fortec.
prices are all pretty good ,I bought mine from a canuck dealer he sends cod as well.
But pansat 2500a works best with a pansat disqc switch, that I know .
good luck..

I agree with XWolf in regard to Pansat has better remote control than Fortecs. I own Fortecs but test lots of pansats and will say both are good products. My only complaint with the fortec units is where they mount the ird receptor which can be relocated for better performance althought most ppl wouldnt want to do this which is relatively simple. As to channel changing, I dont think anyone can say one changes faster than the other. Channel changing is controlled by the s/w in the bin and some bin versions are better than others. This has gone up and down for both types in new bin releases. I have seen a trend lately where if there is a major s/w revision needed by the units because of an ecm I think you will see the pansat getting the first fixes quicker. However, the pansats faced an onslaught of clones coming out in the market riding on the popularity of the pansat that we may see some code coming out to disable. This is a fine line between determining what is real and what is a clone and hopefully no one who has purchased a pansat will be hit. Both types of the units rely on bins provided by coders who do not live in NA and no one in NA appears to have the source code for the s/w although progress is being made in understanding bits and pieces in the code as we seen in the pko fixes for the sept 04 ecm. Just some of my thoughts when considering a receiver.

I also have a Pansat 2500a and am very pleased with it. It is very user friendly and easy on the wallet. Just my 2 cents.

I have a (Pantec) MultiStar FTA Satellite Receiver - and for some mysterious reason - I cannot get it to load-up and convert to a Pansat 2500A type receiver. It simply just will not load for some reason........I get no “Error Messages” - just nothing happens.
YES...I am using the correct software - found within this Forum Download Site Area....I have even tried software from other FTA Sites with still NO success.
YES.....I am using Microsoft Windows XP on my computer.
YES.....My On/Off Switch on the back of the MultiStar is in the “Off Position” - before loading the software.....and YES, I have even tried Unplugging the AC Power Cord from the MultiStar, from the wall - and still no luck.
YES.....I have tried Ports “One” and “Two” - still no success.....is anyone else out their having the same identical problems - such as me....and if yes, have you found a solution?
Note: With so many clones and fake FTA boxes out their....how do I know if I have a Valid Pantec MultiStar Receiver? I have notice the word “Pantec” is listed no where on the Receiver. All it say’s is MuliStar.- and I have seen images of actual Pantec Receivers ALL over the Internet....and mine does look the same.

Hi! How long is your RS232 cable must be 6ft or less to work.
Perhaps you have a bad wire seen people just change wires and then were able to load flash..
Have you tried using the Al7bar tool loader does`nt ask for model type just have to be sure you have it set right on Flash Rom file.
