Ok here is the problem as it sits right now.
First off I did the simple lock so that is out of the way.
programed a rom 2 card placed it in the read end. (good place for it in its ASS)
pluged it in and waited and waited........ trying to dial to msn??? WTF??

Hard disk is making a LOT of noise scraching an popping.
so I thought OK new drive No Problem LOL right. God damn Modem is bad or something because it tries to dial out for update but fails.
Says something like "Your internet terminal needs repairing befor you can access the MSN Network. Please contact your device manufacturer... Yada yada yada...
I could CAre less about Web TV it sucks anyhow.

Does anyone have a real Dump image from a hard drive that has the newer filmware on it?
My drive is toast and the new drive has issues with the modem??

You will probably find the answer to your questions in the sticky thread in the receiver section titled "ready to kill my 7x00"

Sorry, been there done ALL of that nothing was working. then it hit me (Got was I stupid) I was writing the files BACK to the old dead drive and trying to use the new one with nothing on it) Can't believe that I was SO dumb. I pit the files on the new drive and it went right to the upgrade for the dish. Now the only problem is that it can't recognise the Quad 500 head so I have to climb out on my roof and place a single 119 LNB so it can take the download.

Thanks for everyons help. :snipersmi

either the pins on front card slot are not shorted out because somebody put a hat on it to get box keys or your hard drive is out of date as far as firmware goes. If you cant get the modem to work you will have to upgrad it on a computer hooked up as a primary drive and flash it with the firmware.
Did you plug the phone line up????
