Got a ecm'd 3900 model reciever. Trying to JTAG it but when I initiate " Flash Programming " the SOB gives me a message( The flash codes returned are not reconized by JKEYS. Mfg/device codes are 103/3130( JEDEC ) and 103/3130 ( Flash File ). Has anyone had this happen to them and if so, where, how did you get the correct flash's to flash the SOB. I am in drastic need of some help...

Ground pad one of the jtag port and make sure to do the unplug ird and replug ac power back in, Then click flash programming within 3 seconds.

I Jtag every IRD from the top it's more reliable IMO. I've never gotten any errors yet. From the bottom I'd always get "DCU Peek" errors and when I would ground pin 1 I couldn't get anything besides mixed or random numbers.
The only time I ever seen that error code was on a 301-013 and it was a shorted trace on the board. When I found the short and fixed it I was able to jtag it with no problems!

And the Mods must of thought that it was ok or they wouldn't of have let it on the forum. So with all due respect, If you can't take the heat then get outta the kitchen...Besides, these forums are to viewed by adults supposedly..

Don't know Don't care. Spend too much time on the net not making any money anyway.
Lets get back to Dallg's problem.
Might check your power for the buffer is good and if your using a battery that its good. Don't use a extension cable on the printer port. Make sure the ground clip is grounded good to the ird.

Must be a simple oversight
Demotions or getting Banned with out explanation is for the "other sites"

Used to seeing that error on 301-013's with the eeprom check corrupted. Has me wondering here. We know they have been playing with eeproms a little with the new firmware versions. Also 3900 doesn't take well with jy fixing anymore.
Keep us posted Dallg and we should be able to figure it out.

That method is posted and explained in other threads, but if needed, I will briefly explain it again.
Yes, it works, I have used it, and others have had success with it also.

My thoughts exactly. I use my Jinterface for all these older models and never really had that problem. Jtag only comes out for the newest ird's that for some reason the jinterface will not work correctly on anymore.

I have this happen too I am old fart with arthritus and holding pogo on spot hard sometimes.
1. If I wiggle and lose a connection while erasing it will do it.
2. If I get tired after erasing 3 4 times and stop before programming it can do it.
3. It I have power failure during erase it can do it.
Turn power off a minute. Start all over. You will get short time erase a few times. (too quick to be ready) Shut off power erase again. It always comes back and does a full time erase and then will program OK.
It did it this afternoon on my 4900, followed my steps, 2, 3 times then it erased full (reglar) time and programmed OK.
Not a major problem, 1 disadvantage of pogo pin J-Tag, but I like it. Works on everything. 110 volt power. Have to make holdem rig one day.

Sorry, Normsbro - you've got the wrong Mili. The one on this site has been known to turn the air blue. :p
Birdie, have Mili adjust his admin control panel. An obvious glitch - we haven't created a DTV IRD mod slot just yet, however, it's been brought up a few times :D
