3800 need software update ! help

I have a 3800 and the software version is 643PCLBV-N , and i have been told it should be at P232 . I put it in the stream to up date and it doesn't . What do i have to do and how do i have to do it ?

1) Go into Menu and choose "Update w/o my permission".
2) Turn the box off with your remote control and go get a beer...When it's done it will turn on by itself...should be around 10-30 mins..

Is it best to have the card in or out while waiting for updates?
