i'm new to this whole dish thing but i'm very interested in learning the ways. i have a magic card and jtag but the receiver i have doesn't seem to be compatible. the receiver is a 4500. i started by using the list provided by bellexpress and the 4500 was on it. however i don't see the hole for the jtag. could someone guide me in the right direction. can i use this receiver or should i get a different on and if so what is the best receiver to get. thanks

4500 does not have a jtag port to use a jtag on. My honest opinion is find a unit with a jtag port that is not a subscribed unit.

Depends on Dish or Bell.
2700 or 301-010/3100 are good for either.
If just Dish any x700/800/900 is easy for learning on. 301's are nicer ird's, But a little harder for repairing at first.
