I have: PVR508+Magic card, DishPro500 to point to 110 & 119, Dish300 with single DP-LNB point to 61.5. They all connected to DP-SW34.

I got 110+119 signals but no signal at 61.5w.

1) Do I need to add the international tier before install 61.5?
2) Can I use Dish300+single DP-LNB for 121W? I would like to try difference Sat.

I run check switch, it sees the SW34 and single LNB but no signal.

I am not sure if the dp500 lnb with built in sw is compatible with a sw34dp. sw34 calls for 3 sep lnb's.
I'd connect the 61.5 direct first and get it aimed, Once you have signal add the dpsw34 inline without the 500 connected yet, Run check sw. Then check 61 signal, Should still be good, The add 500dp lnb, Run check sw, If this go astray at this point the switches are probably not working together.

Thanks Birdie,

I'll try it today. I'll connect 61.5 direct and aim it first. Can I aim 148 bird? because 61.5 direction has a big tree slightly blocking.

My dish500 has DP-quad LNB. I followed the DP-Quad LNB instruction manual to connect 2 output of LNB to 2 input of dpsw34. the third input of sw34 connect to dish300-single dp-LNb. I got 89 signal strength on 110W&119W but 0 signal on 61.5W.

I'm thinking to sale my dish500+dish300 and replace it with supperdish-121. What do you think? Please give me your input. Thanks a lot.

I'm having the same problem setting up a friend.
301.010 IRD/DishPro 500 Twin LNB(119, 110)/DP-300 Single LNB (61.5)-DP-34 Switch-RG-6 Quad cable less than 200 feet. Using SF-95 meter; then Dish setup on IRD.
I got 110+119 signals but no signal at 61.5w. Tiers on ROM 10 set up for 61.5 bird
But.. I run check switch, it sees the DP34 (Xs for Sat Signal/Connection for 119, 110) and no Xs for Sat Signal and Switch Connection for single LNB (61.5). Further investigation as Birdie suggested. I set up DP-300 directly to IRD (No DP-34); pointed to 61.5 bird.. Got a signal! But @ 41%. Why? There's a big tree in direct sight of 61.5 (about 50 yards away)
Questions: Is this why I do not get an X for Connection and X for Sat signal?
Does It need to be 50% or better to have the DP-34 recognize it?
Standard LNB, like a D*VE regualar 101* can't be used with the DP-34, but can be used directly to IRD?

Possible Trouble shooting steps for both of us:
1)After getting signal (in my case 41%); Add DP-34 in line with IRD w/o DP500 LNbs patched to DP-34 Switch. Run Check switch and see if you get Xs in boxes As suggested by Birdie.

) get an inline amplifier ($6 USD) that draws power from IRD to boost signal?? Tree is still in direct site. Lastly!

3) Un bolt dish an relocate to another area of roof and point again to 61.5

4) Forums say it's rare, but Switches are the last to go. If all fails..replace (or swap-test DP-34)

121 is not A DP- Single LNB. It needs a KuLNBF. It cannot pick up the FSS frequencies that 121° uses. Very low broadcast for DBS standard LNBs to pick up. Echo* 9 (chls upper 600-816) for locals such as Portland, ME; and Intl stuff such as the large menu of Chinese programming and others stuff. Yes it mirrors 61.5 on the East coast and 148 on the WEst Coast. But your local city may not be focused on this satellite. SuperDish? Yes, you will get that special LNBF plus the DishPros for the main birds of 119, 110 + the wider dish to pull in waves.

Please feel free to feedback on my comments!

Thanks,

I followed birdie instruction, Connect dish300 direct to Recv. and aim to 148. It works. I got the signal strength 74. After connect to sw34 and change transponder to 11 the signal strength go up to 82.

Thanks a lot.

Some East Coast locals will not be there. Are you cool with that? Your 61.5 was still pointed at tree? Do a comparison of what you are missing by giving up 61.5 for 148 at: h**p://ekb.dbstalk.com/dishlist.htm I live on Northeast coast of USA. 148 would be a solution (not pointing at the big tree!) but a serious compromise for me.

61.5 & 148 use Normal DP-300 LNB (Not the one used for DirecTV or Legacy Dish when dealing with this DP-34 switch.

105 & 121 are FSS
