If you are not going to build your own IRD, check first to find out which ones you can EMU with. There is a list of models that you can use, some will not work for what you want. If you can't find the list, I can PM that to you. Good luck

ihavent sub to the download area, yet. but ill check ther tonight.
my story......
A friend just moved and gave me his rec, i sub to dish and was going to activate his pvr but he left them with a big bill so dish wont let me use them. : ( so here i am back it tne habit agian (i mean hobby : )
the pvr is a 501,the card is one of the newer ones aa-06

side note... does anyone know how dish stores the vid on the drive, more to the point how to transfer it to a comp. will be working on that next :)

The DP501 will emu fine.
If it is one of the newer ones [card says it is] it will need a vid mod [read...read...read] to do any flashwork/boxkey extraction.
The MaxMel emu will work fine.
I also highly recommend an AR105-C lock so that you don't get hit [it also saves your recordings].
