i have found some instructions on jtagging a 2500A.my queston is can i use my buffered jtag that i use for dish and bell ird.i think i have figured out which ones are TRST,TDO,etc so should this work or do i need to make a simple jtag or buy the one for FTA ird

A buffered jtag will work. Out of curiosity why are you jtagging the unit? If you have a bad flash or Night Rider you may be able to flash an older fix file as an intermediate flash to get the unit back up when a factory bin flash will not load. I am seeing reports by some that the X-8500 2.33 bin has brought some back that went bad when an incorrect stb setting was flashed corrupting the bin file. Just a thought

i dont need to yet.my unit has not arrived yet, should be here in a couple days.i am new to this so i have been doing a lot of reading and i found that sometimes you might need to jtag to fix so i am just trying to prepare for the worst

lmao, the irds are a little more hardier than we thought we we first started getting into this fta business. Peeps just fooling around have showed us there is more than 1 way to bring the units back to life from what we thought 5 months ago was a sure jtag job. I dont think it will be bad as you think unless you are a tester that goes to the extremes. Happy testing when ya get your pansat.
