Hi I just have a quick question and I hope someone can help me out???

I've being trying for days now (and yes I've done my research on the topic within this particular forum and others) to aquire both 119 and 110 for dish... First off I have a dish pro 500 dish with a dual LNB that have a switch build into the LNB itself (also I have a 301 receiver). Now first off I locked on to the 119 sat and preformed a check switch to see whether or not both sats are being aquired but I had no luck. I've tried moving the skewness and I've always came to the same conclusion. By reading other posts some individuals state to lock onto 119 and try to aquire 110 and others stated the reverse (lock onto 110 and then adjust in order to aquire 119), at this point not only am I confused but I'm also frustrated!!! Not only have I had this problem, but I also noticed some people suggest that once you've locked on to a sat the only thing that needs to be adjusted is the skewness... Meanwhile others state that the evalation should be the only thing to adjust once you've locked on... Which one is right??? Can someone please reply and clarify the proper procedure in order the lock onto both the 119 and 110 sat...

Thanks in advance,

SuperDud

I still think you need a sw21 switch...

The LNB on my dish itself is a Twin Legacy Digital LNBF and I heard the switch is build into the LNB itself...

Any other suggestions

Before I try the clock rotating suggestion, I have one more quick question... I noticed that when I locked onto 119 the Azimut degree is slightly different from the 110 Azimut...will this cause a problem when I begin to rotate??? Or should I be rotating my dish in between both Azimut's that seem to work for me???

Thanks again for all the help "001438"

Which side does the 119 come in on the? The 119 should come in on input 1, and the 110 should come in on the #2 input. If the 119 is coming in on the #2 input, you will have to move the dish so it comes in on #1 and then the 110 will come in on the #2 input if your LNB's are working properly.

try this, you have your dish pointing coordinates right. skew, angle azimuth. if you are in the US it should give them to you on the dish pointing menu if you choose the dish 500, these coordinates it gives you are the in between ones to pick up both 110 and 119. if you choose dish 300 it will igve you the angle azimuth only for either one and you will see the dish 500 with skew added is basically in between the seprerate ones with the dish skewed also.

use rg6 cable no rg59
make sure your dish mounting mast is plumb first
hook your cable up to the 119 side, should say on side on lnbf block, it is the right side in you are looking down lnb arm into face of dish
set your skew on dish (the twist turn like car steering wheeel)
ok, then set your angle on dish (up and down)
then starting to where your coordinates say the azimuth is for your location you should be able to swing it left to right east/west (azimuth) and pick up the 119 and the 110. adjust to best signal compromise, then do a switch test.
make sure to use transponders 11 or 12 for the 119 and 110 some under 10 are spot beams and you may not get a signal at all on some of them.

Dish it.

How far is the cable run and are you using quad shield or just RG-6? The 110 bird is a tad lower in power then the 119 and both are much lower voltage then DSS is i think the 119 is like 14.? volts and the 110 is like 11.? volts. And if you are a long ways the quad is what you need. I had them same problem 110 would not lock in till I ran the quad. Also the skew have to be dead balls on.

First you need to make sure the post is perfect. Then you set the skew according to the instruction, then you set the elevation according to instruction. If you have everything done right you turn the dish to the compass heading and move it a little at a time left and right. The other settings are almost sure to be right on if you did the set up right.

here is a link to a dealer where you can download factory instructions for the novice to set up a dish.
