Question about ROM.bin

Just wondering, what do you need to create a ROM.bin file used for emulation? I'm not talking about the eeprom.bin (4k). It's the rom.bin which is 16k in size. Do you create one by using the plastic? Is there any written prodedure to do that? It would be nice to know how to create one just for educational purpose.

I believe the "rom.bin" file is the image of a "dish card".

My rom.bin file I use with emulation is the image of a ROM3 at revision 382 (or 383, don't remember).

I believe it is a generic image of the card. In my case, a ROM3 card.

I don't know enough about the hobby to provide anymore information other than this. I have never had to mess with my rom.bin file. The only thing I make changes to is the dish.bin.
