Okay I am new to Dish,... finally given up on Dave. I think I want to emu Dish, but I have some questions, yes I have read and intend to read some more but can someone spoon these answers to me so I might straighten the learning curve.

1. Has anyone had luck emuing with a HD receiver (if so what receivers work)?
2. Why doesn’t Mili offer a max n mel (pretty leery of other sites)
3. Were to buy a max n mel
4. Why so many different software setups (what is the best as far as stability, price, ease in that order)
5. No card needed did I read this correctly?
6. Does anyone have a check list of things need and/or a brief how to?
7. Will magic cards or programming last any longer than emu?
8. Would you emu again if given the choose?

Thanx for any input!

I love emu and only do emu but nothing else. It doesn't require a card; It's cheap. You can build everything yourself if you want to. It's more involved but more reliable as well. Different programs different flavors, choose one of your choice.

The only con I can think of is you have to have the computer near by running all the time.

So start reading on how to build the emu board. Good luck.

What kind of receiver do you have? I use 301's, which work really well. You'll need the max/mel board, max/mel programmer, JTAG cable, computer and I use YVOUS 3.0 to emulate...it's very easy and reliable.
