View Full Version : Error 019 smart card not inserted corrctly?

I just programmed my rom3/2700 and everything was ok for a few hours and then "error 019 the smart card is not inserted correctly" came on. I've re-inserted the card and also unplugged the receiver. Nothing helps. I was able to get into the menu (just momentarily) and saw that the smart card # is all 0's. What do I have to do to fix this.

Can you read /clean the card?I would try to clean the contacts with an eraser first.

Cannot reset, read or clean. Comes up "error resetting card, atr string invalid"

What would I have to do for this?

If your receiver can't see it, and your programer can't read it, it's a 99% chance it's looped, or braindead.You might try atr resurection or equivalent scripts, incase it's just softlooped, but it isn't likely.

What would have caused it to loop? And how can I be sure that's what it is?

No communication in both your receiver and programer indicates this, i would think.

Depends on what happened...if it was working fine and died suddenly while you were watching it, it's bad news . The card may have had a mark from previous unlocking, making it an ecm target and Charlie got you. If so, no fix for that damage. If something else happened while you were watching it, non ecm related, you can try the ATR resurection program. If its softlooped, it may come back. If its ecm looped, it's junk.
