Ok, I am a n00b and I know it. I have been a DTV tester for years. After that all went to crap with the death of the HU card, I decided to try my hand at Dish testing. Anyway, I am having a hell of a time getting the 119 bird locked down. Let me tell you what equipment I am using.

Dish 500 dish with what I think is a twin lnb (I think this has a build in swich) (It says 110 on one side and 119 on the other and has two outputs on it, so you can hookup 2 IRD's) The LNB does say DishPro on it!!!

2800 IRD

Atmega 128 18MHz crystal

Dish Pro Adapter (I was told that I needed this becasue the IRD is a legacy IRD that only support the 110 bird)

I have the dish on my roof all setup and I have the 110 bird locked in at about 100 on the signal meter. When I look at what 119 says I get this message (wrong sat) and the signal is still at 100.

No matter what I do to adjust the skew, azimuth and elevation I can not get 119. What am I doing wrong?

It might depend on how far north you are if your in canada. I've heard people in edmonton have trouble getting 119 but calgary is fine. you might need a bigger dish for 119

The LNB itself...is it a DishPro Lnb or Legacy? If it a Legacy...you dont need the dishpro adapter for it to work.

Meanwhile make sure you are mounting on a level surface.119 can be a bitch to get if you surface isnt level.

I am not 100% sure what LNB I have. I will check when I get home. I am going on what I was told by my friend that gave me the Dish and LNB. The LNB does say DishPro on it. I assume it is a Twin LNB with the switch integrated. The Dish 500 is mounted on a sloped roof. I used a bubble level to make sure I have the mast level. BTW... I have this Dish Network Dish 500 mounted right next to my DirecTV Dish. It is about 2 feet away from it. The DirecTV dish is a triple LNB that picks up 101, 110, and 119 from DirecTV just fine. I had no issues mounting that one.

I do have Dish 500 selected in my menu. There is an option for Dish 300 and Dish 500. I found another menu that had a selection for SuperDish 3, 4 & 5. I have no idea what those are, but I do not have any of those checked.

I don't know what transponder I am setup to use in the dish pointing menu at the moment. I don't think it is 11 or 12 though. I will check that too when I get home. Why does the transponder matter?

You're probably using a single lnb and can only get one sat at a time.

No, I checked and it is a Dish Pro LNBF

unplug your sat cable from the ird, run check switch, plug it back in, run check switch again and tell us what happens.

I got the 119 and 110 with some help from a friend. He was only moving the dish a little bit at a time to get the 119 in. I was moving it a lot more than he was. I gave up on the Atmega128 and am now up and running with a Magic Card.
