View Full Version : J31 Problems
I have a 310-010 and I also have the new J31, but I can not get my j31 to read my ird's informations what so ever. I have read all the walk throughs that I can get my hands on to see if I have been doing something wrong. I am staring to think that my Jtag is screwed. Isn't it just supposed to go on your ejtag on the top board of your 310-010? I don't know what elese to do other than buy a quad and cut a hole in the bottom of my ird. Can anyone help me? please.

I had same problem this was my procedure
Remove top of IRD
hookup J31 with power off
it may take 2 people to do it because you need to keep constent pressure with this type of JTAG
while you keep constent pressure on etag pads get someone else to plug in your receiver and bring up jkeys if you have not move the jtag it will read your boxkeys and other info
if you move your J31 even slightly it will not work it is almost impossible to do this by yourself because you will usually move the J31 when you go to plug in your receiver it will work if jtag does not move
Once you have your info unplug receiver with the J31 still hooked up
NEVER REMOVE JTAG WITH THE RECEIVER STILL PLUGGED IN
hope this helps please let me know if this helped you
Also make sure j31 is hooked up properly on the j31 itself it should have front marked right on it
I tried what you said for a couple hours of going through these steps and still no luck :(
please god why, the j31 sucks
When I turn my j-tag around the other way insted of it saying 0xFFFFFFFF I can get it to say 0x00000000 is that a good sign or not?
