Hey guys, I just picked up a 301.013 today (single tsop) and after I got off of work I went straight into my very first vidmod. Well I must say I am finished, programmed 7FFFFFAC to 0000 and I am getting ready to program my card to do the final test. I must give a great thank you to Mili and his guide over at www.bellexpress.vu, it is awesome, I must say it went without a hitch. Thanks a million Mili!!! One last thing, did I read somewhere I would have to have a yellow rom 10x card to let this IRD update to current firmware?
Don't think so. If the VidMod went correctly you should be able to use a Blue ROM card to update and you should be good to go. Is this a VIRGIN IRD that never seen the datastream?
Note! If you use a blue ROM card to update be sure it has a blocker on the card before you put it in the datastream to keep from getting streamlocked. I see from the # of posts that you prob. knew this already BUT wanted to warn you to save you a headache later....LOL :D

The IRD has already been in the datastream, I set the upgrade to ask me before downloading and I am just now getting the update request, I backed up the old version, It was P203, I had thought I read somewhere that you had to use the yellow card to update, my is taking the update as we speak with the blue card so I was obviously wrong.

Charlie's rotating between 201/203/204 to "poke" the lock....Check it again in a day or two ...if you have 204 you might get 203 back ....I updated a box to 204..only to find out it's 201 two days later...

Now this is strange, I was at 203, now I am at 201, is this correct?

Words from the stream logger is that Charlie's alternating firmware to "poke" TSOP locks.....starting out with 27xx...and now 301...

locks are just a waste of time anyways, as long as you have a good quad mode, jtaging is fun....

i just did the vid mod, followed instruction from www.bellexpress.vu and now no power to my receiver,i rechecked all connections and solder joints everything as in description one problem i had was the small trace i had to solder and the small end of sb 35 came out of board a little, however i was able to solder it back to the pad i did not do the jtag after the vid mod as i retrieved box keys before doing the vidmod, what could go wrong in the vid mod to make the receiver not have power? also i checked the fuse in the receiver and it is good. any help would be very appreciated thank you in advance

I wander if I do the old fashion way the (JY fix) on the 301-013 (single tsop) ground the SB39 to SB40 instead of VID-MOD because of all the solder, that will cure the error 349?.
Your reply is much appreciated.

I would think that the write protected top is write protected not only towards the jtag port but also the sattelite stream, so therefore jy fixing a 013 would not cure the problem and only damage the receiver, JY fix is not recommended, I just read a good post about it here recently, there is a part of the receiver that weakens a little every time the jy fix is applied.

Thanks for your reply Crazy1_79, I have one problem (CAN NOT SOLDIRING) and I do not know any one who does testing.
Thanks again
