I bought an upgraded 4700 to 4900 with a UHF remote. I'm waiting on my Dish 500 to get here before I install it all. Is there an IR remote option for this receiver? I'd like to get it working with my Harmony 659 (IR remote) so I don't have remote hell on my coffee table. Is there a manual anywhere to D/L for this receiver?

L MAO :eek13:

I'd like to use both. The Harmony Remote is sweet. It runs 6 different brands of 7 pieces of equipment right now with any command available to any piece at any time. One button turns on all the equipment and sets all inputs for what you want to do, whether it's watch TV, watch a DVD, listen to CD's or DVD-Audio, etc., etc. It's the only remote I have batteries in.

I'd like to take the UHF remote downstairs where I've got another TV hooked up through the IRD's coax cable out. I was looking to see if anybody knew if the IRD would run with both types of remotes at the same time.

Must be a real bitch if you're just getting into some good porn and he switches it to Debbie Travis.

Thanks. I D/L'd the manual. I added the 4700 to my Harmony remote, plugged the IRD in and the Harmony works! So I'll be able to use the UHF for my downstairs TV.

The remote that came with the receiver is an IR Remote. The Ebay auction said receiver, UHF antenna and blue button remote. That's exactly what I got. And I gave the guy the best feedback comment I could think of. Shit.

You did OK. The Blue Button remote is the best. Because

It has UHF.
It has IR. ! BOTH !

I use it on both my 4900 (UHF)
and my 301-10 (IR)

Works great with both but the UHF is like the man said the best because it does not need line of siight like IR.

I looked on Ebay at some others. The UHF remotes have a little emblem under the # pad. This remote has 1,5 IR Remote #113628 on the back. I got ahold of the seller. He's going to look to see if he has a UHF remote and send it if he does.

Has to have FCC sticker on it.
On back says FCC ID DKNAMTX made in mexico.
with fine print I can't read.

On the front it has UHF under the buttons.

On the top is two led 'eyes' for the IR
