pvr 501

I just got a pvr 501 and when i hooked the jtag up to get the ird# and boxkeys the ird number came up as 000000001-96 and the boxkeys were ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff what's wrong...does anyone know?...I'm moving up from a 3700 and that always worked fine

You may have to try a different version of jkeys. Other than that, try to read both your tsops. If they save correctly then open up tsop 2 in flash edit 2.0 and try all of the options available for the 501. One of these options should give you all of your correct information. My 501 information correctly displayed under 501 moved ird and boxkey info.

did you ground pad 1.i always have to on a 501.

I did the OJ1 mod to a switch rather than a jumper. When I need to access the tsop, i flip the switch and jtag without grounding pin 1. Had to do a vid mod as well.

try using jkeys 301-508 you will find in download section you may need to look at the 508 screen to get the numbers jumping pad 1 to ground is the easilest to do as you will have the ird upside down anyway the vid mod will only be required if the u7 chip is a GT usually found on remanufactured units but opening the top isnt too hard to do to check if you have a dt your set to go
