I'm running a dish 2700 IRD and it was rolling perfectly for the last 4 months, until I decided it time to update firmware from 979 to 978, then all hell broke loose, I started getting and ECM every 10 minutes with ERROR 151, and usaully with this type of error it might be a lock problem, so today I got d4 lock and had it installed by a friend of mine who is an expert, so I fired up the IRD to see the result, and voila it was there ECM error 151 again we were stunned, we triple checked the lock connections and tried 3.3 and 5 volts but no use.
then I thought maybe the firmware update is the problem, so I said may be I should roll back to 797COCA so I put the JTag to erase the Tsop. but the Tsop would not respond and I get and error message on the desktop saying THE FLASH TOOL CODES RETURNED ARE NOT RECOGNIZED BY JKEYS, MFRG DEVICE CODE RETURNED FA25/2250 (JEDEC) AND FA25/2520 (FLASH FILE)" after I press erase. I have never seen such a thing before, I double checked the jTag connections it looked fine, it was too late at night so I gave up.
this morning I tried it again, it worked I was able to erase and then write the tsop, but when I pressed FLASH TOOLS in jKeys I got the same error message. I could'nt believe it, I removed the lock physically from the IRD and I grounded at OG3 and used the 33ohm connection and tried again, this time the IRD won't light and I still get the message after I press flash tools.
any body has any idea whats going on. thank you.

You post makes no sense to me. You say you were able to erase and reflash. The you say you get errors trying to get to flash tools. What is flash tools? The jkeys I use has flash programming, and that's where you erase and reflash at. Sounds like you need a bettter jkeys version to start with. I'd get a later jkeys, try again, and if your jtag uses batteries, get fresh ones.
Also you "expert" lock install may not have been so expert, look for damage to the WE line and poor solder connections there too.

I had the same problem with my 2700. You need to remove your lock jump you trace cut... I believe it's We#0 to We1 and restream you IRd to take the firmware update...Once your IRd takes the new update you can reinstall your lock to 3.3v and you should be back in business. Mine is working Good luck.
