While Jtag'n and VidMod'n my 510 I was checking the voltage on the power board, a slip with the DMM (Digital Multi Meter) lead and I shorted across the 16v pins where the two cards mate to each other. Knowing that that's not good I completed the the mods and put everthing back together. Now I do get power past the fuse but the main board is not getting power, disk will not spin.

Ok, so I need to change my name to Sparky.

Everyone learn from my mistake. Take your time and pay attention to what you are doing.

Question for the experts: Is the receiver fried or just the power board and can the power board be replaced. If so, who sells them?

I'm sure I will get ridiculed here but hopefully someone can help.

Thanks, 79TA Aka Sparky

Power board is not that hard to repair. Prolly just popped a diode, or voltage regulator. The 510 uses a different board than the 501/508's.

just recheck the voltages at the power board again to comfirm the power supply is the problem if there is no voltage or the voltages are wrong power supply needs checking if all the voltages are right check your connections on the board
