Need Rom 3 Rev 372 Help

I HAVE A ROM 3 CARD WITH A REV 372 . I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO UNLOCK IT? ITS STREAM LOCKED BY DISH NETWORK . I CAN FIND FILES FOR 375,381,382 BUT NO 372 ANY HELP ?? :cool:

them files used to be all over the net but not anymore it is hard to find a program to unlock372 anymore and it is even harder to find anyone that has delt with them in the patst couple of years everyone will tell you to use openseseme and dish monkey and all that crap but I have yet to find a program to work on mine just an ice scraper now

What equipment do you have ? ie: ISO programmer, j-tag, etc. Have you tried to reset the card in Nagra 4.1 ? If so what message do you get ? Rev 372 would not indicate a streamlocked card necessarily, you need to try to read it and report back what message you get. DO NOT put it in the stream unless it is programmed and protected by a blocker, preferably Mili's private one.

If you really got balls, let it in the stream for a few minutes, perhaps you can get rev 380 or 381, and then use rompopper to open it, if it goes to 383, time for a modded loader, I can tell you that I mistakenly put a rom card in the stream without a blocker I believe it was at rev 380, it took me about two minutes to realize my mistake and when I pulled the card it was 382 (383 was the current rev when I did this) I then popped it with the D2C file that is used in nagraedit.

Hey Crazy, know anything about this file from another site that is for unlocking 372-378, requires an AVR though ? Na_Worm, I have the zip but no AVR or 372 to try.

I've heard of it, but have never tried it myself, don't have a AVR or a locked 372, actually I was unaware that it was able to unlock cards, thought it was just software for atmega or AVR.

I unlocked four streamlocked 378's using the Rom3 smart unlocker D2C file. I have no idea if it would work on your 372, but it won't hurt to try.

Tim, You need a 3.68 mhz ISO compliant card reader/Loader. Download Nagraedit, The card utility program and I bet the card is open just fine.

Exactly why I asked my first question above, but he is not answering with any info that indicates a level of knowledge. And why I guess when I asked the next questions he has not come back, too bad that some people are shy to admit they are lost/new; we don't bite !

well if he doesn't mind doing a little reading we don't mind clearing up any questions he may have before he gets started. I think I was at this site reading for a month before I ever registered! I had it all upstairs locked and loaded and ready to roll but when the hands on time comes and it is your first time (you guys are remember your first time, right? LOL) questions may arise and then you have to ask the forum. I acutally was helping the forums before I ever even got my equipment! At least the simple questions, I took four days to get my MC up and running, All I did wrong was I left the hyphen in the IRD number!

sorry so long i've bin at work. i do have a ios programmer, a jtag too. the saids if read it <backdoor appears to be closed> . i did put it back in the stream and the rev change to 383. is that go or bad?

I'm afraid if you streamed it without a blocker and it reads 383 it probably is stream locked. There are guys who can unlock those now with a modded T911. Don't throw it out, someone else may have advice, I'll ask around but meantime your out of luck for now.

Tim, before you go any further, you must further your education in the fine art of Dishnet testing. :)
It's obvious you're still pretty unfamiliar with it...which is fine, we were all there at one point or another...and it's not hard. It IS very detailed, however - and one small mistake (such as streaming a card with no blocker) can ruin expensive equipment (your Rom3) so, until you learn, leave your cards in your drawer.

A "streamlocked 383" means that Dishnet has electronically locked your card at that revision level...rendering it inaccessable and unusable for "testing" purposes. That's the reason - the only reason - Dishnet sends that command to your card - to stymie bad boys like you and me. :p If you put a Dishnet ROM card, one that has no blocker installed, in a receiver that's hooked to a satellite connection - even if the receiver is turned off - you can kiss its ass goodbye. Remember that.

It can be repaired, by someone familiar with the procedure. You can send a PM to someone like Lips905 or Coolwind, both of whom have modified loaders equipped to fix streamlocked cards. It will cost you very little money, and a few days shipping time back and forth. Remember, use private messaging if you care to contact one of these people.

And let this be a lesson - if you don't know what you're getting into, stay the hell out.

Just fyi for those that truly have a locked card at 372. I had one and threw everything at it besides updating it manually. I happened to have an avr so I loaded na_worm onto the avr and it unlocked it in seconds.

I had a 372 that didnt want to unlock.I threw everything I had..didnt work...till I updated it to 382...and it popped.try that it works for stubborn cards.

I'm not sure that the updates are sequential anymore, though. I know a dude that tried the 378 to 381 update, and it went 378 to 383 VERY quickly.

me too. i read and read then registered, and i still read and read and asked and just this past weekend i did my first one.(here since july.lol) still had a ton of questions, but i said i was new and lost. i did the same thing with the hyphen. skinerd actually just answered that question this morning for me!

I used the updater-unlocker on a stubborn rev372 rom3 and it did update the rev to 382. It did not pop the card though. Tried the rom3popper mentioned and it failed as well. Finally tried the D2C file in Nagra and it worked within seconds. FWIW.
