grounding 3100 BEV

I'm getting new in the box 3100 BEV. Since it's new it probably won't have the cut out on the bottom and I'll have to rip out the board to do it. Anyways, will I have to ground anything like I did for my 301-013 DishNetwork??? I grounded R79 when I do all my stuff with that receiver or is the 3100 a little less finicky when it comes to jtagging?

i can jtag mine no problems but mine cane with the openning already i have used both a simple and buffered jtag no errors

Thanks for the reply. I'll go to Rat Shack and pick up another $5.00 set of supplies so I can build another jtag.
