I have some extra parts laying around and was just wondering if it is possible to mod a 2800 to accept the uhf remote signal. I have the antenna and the uhf box. I looked at the 2800 board and did not see a socket for a uhf remote. I don't have access to a 4900 to look at its board to compare. Maybe it isn't possible. I just thought that I had the parts might as well use them. Any suggestions would be helpful. I did notice that there is a small sqare with 3 solder points that says "optical j4" at the back of the receiver beside the "dolby digital" pad.

Without converting the tsop the accect the UHF remote commands it will not work. 2800 has a half meg tsop, Need 2 meg tsop on these models for UHF. Alot cheaper and easier getting a receiver setup for it. 4900's are kinda nice as IR and UHF remotes both work and they run the newer type firmware like 301 and up that doesn't sit for 20 minutes aqquiring sat signal.
