View Full Version : Vidmod Regulator
I thought I had a 301-010 because the sticker on the back of my ird says reg id 010, but I have tried to read the box keys with a j31 and it did not work I did the cut out of my ird and built a J-tag and still no box keys. So then I gave it to a guy at work and he was gonna get them using his x-treme quad and knows way more about this stuff than I do. But he wasn't able to get them as well, then he said that he thinks I have a 013 and that I need to do the vidmod, so now I am totally confused has anyone ever heard about a 010 being locked? Or do I have a 013 I don't thik I do, and does anyone know if the vidmod will fix this? And if I do the vidmod do I need a regulator? or can I build my own?
Please help.

The vid mod is not needed just to read a receiver's boxkeys.
oh well I was told that would unlock my receiver so I could get my box keys, do you know why know one can get my box keys then?

You must not have your jtag connected correctly........I absolutely assure you the vid mod will not help get boxkeys.
And if you receievr is a 301-010 like hte box says, the vid mod is not needed at all, even to completely erase and reflash.
An easy way to tell if it is -010 or -013, look at the processor chip, a -013 will have an ST55xx chip, the -010 has a LSI chip and it has a heat sink glued to the top so you can't read the chip top, there are a lot of other differences too, flash chip types are way different, and placed in different locations, jtag pad is in different locations, etc.

The Build version can tell you too, Either from the onscreen system info or the sticker on the main circuit board. If it starts with letter "E" it's a 005 or 010, Ones starting with "D" are 013's.
