Hi,
I'm having a tough with the sw21 switch been detected, I checked the signals separately without the switch and they both have a strong signal, I used 3 different switches with the same result (not detected),I have lastest update on the receiver (798). Do I have to do a switch check on both satellites separately first and then do one together? What is the procedure when installing the switch? I have a Dish 500 legacy dual dish and a 2700 receiver with a digital lock installed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

This site has good wiring diagrams. http://www.18inch.com
Does your dish have the built in switch? It's late and I can't think, if it does you don't need the sw21.

The dish that I have doesn't have a built in switch.

I believe you need to add power to the switch when using a 2700, also try running check switch with the cable unpluged then plug it and run check switch again.

Check your cables going into the switch. The center conductor must be extra long in order to make contact with the components inside. I would say it should be sticking out a good 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch beyond the end of the connector. I have run into this many times. Good Luck

When I do a test on one lnb 119 sat it detects the switch and it works fine but when I add the 110 sat I only get the odd Transponders on 119 and it doesn't even see the 110 sat. I forgot to mention I had 2 FTA receivers hooked up to the Dish 500 dish with 2 Diseqc switches and they worked fine then I decided to get rid of one FTA receiver and hook up a regular Dishnet receiver with a sw21 switch. Could this be the problem with 2 different switches (they are installed separately thou). Any suggestions? Thanks

I found the problem, there's a conflict between the Diseqc switch that I have hooked up to FTA receiver and the sw21 switch that I have hooked up to my Dishnet 2700 receiver. The channels start to freeze and there was some loss of signal from time to time. When I disconnect the switch everything is fine, my question is there a switch that would work with a FTA receiver and a Dishnet receiver.I have Dish 500 legacy dual setup(not a twin dual and it does not have a built in switch. Thanks
