Wassup everyone, need a little help trying to get the ird# and box keys from my receiver. I did get the ird's and box keys from my first receiver but unfortunatley i blew out that box, the alligator clip hit somehing on the mainboard and there went the box. Wires are to short on the Jtag, anyways now im trying to read my second box but is not giving me any info. Which of the seven soldered pads should the red wire on the jtag be lined up with??? i was so happy when i got a reading from my first box that i forgot how i lined up the wires. I'm doing it according to the instructions ive found in this site, but still nothing. Also for some reason when i plug in my box the power on indicator aka the green bulb shuts off after a couple of seconds, Is this normal or is my box messed up???? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

With the ground bar at the bottom (directly below the pads) they are numbered 1 through 7, RIGHT to LEFT.
You will be using 2 through 6....with the red power (TRST) lead on pad 6, which in this case, is second from the LEFT.

If the green light will not stay on you have a tsop or power supply problem.....

i have the box which doesnt have the bar but instead has a second row of soldered pads. im asuming im supposed to use the top row of soldered pads. As for the green light it stays on when i connect it to the tv set but as soon as i take it apart the light doesnt stay on. Could my jtag be fried cause of the electrical mishap i had with my first box?? the jtag does power on though. This is really starting to get to me!!!! since i only have 2 hands

When you said 7 pads, I thought you had an older receiver with the ground bar...
Let's clear it up - what is the MODEL NUMBER of your receiver?

OK, I understand, MUMRA - you're addressing the board from the top, not the bottom.

See the guide in the post directly above yours.

Nice job, Hillbilly....thanks :)
