can i use ird# and box keys from another box??

first of all, DO NOT take what i say as definate.
i am a newbie aswell. i'm pretty sure that i read in one of the forums that you can do that and it will work(i think the thread was actually about using keys from one ird model in another different model, which the person was told would work).
maybe p/m a mod(skinerd is good with ird's- he's answered a ton of my questions)

Yes that can be done, no problem, read and save your tsop, open it in flashedit, change the numbers to what ever you like and write it back.

flashedit is asking me dp301 13 (1 flash) dp301 13 (2 flash) and dp 301 13 (moved ird info) which should i do it in?? also write soft lock , remove soft lock and no soft lock appears dont know what to do there either

Why would you want to read the TSOP, editing a new set of box key and IRD # , then write it back to your box ?

What's wrong with the current box key and IRD # ....?

Wouldn't it be much simpler to just JTAG it and use the current box key and IRD # ?

BTW you may need to do vidmod on that box...

i got the tsop from a box i fried so i thought i could just use them on another box i have. Problem is i dont know how to use flashedit. I was trying to get the ird# and bkeys from the new box but i havent been able to do it. Its not reading the dam thing

You can change the IRD# and the Box Key from any IRD to another

BUT

the flash has to be for the same model. One from a 1 tsop will not work in a 2 tsop and a 2 will not work in a 1.

Just edit the existing flash to change the numbers and it will work.

how do i edit exsisting flash?? im extremely new at this i dont know how the hell flashedit works and sure dont know if i have a 1 flash or 2 flash box. my model # is dp301 reg013 i just need a little help with flashedit. thanxs

Here is a link to flashedit in milli's files section.
Open your flash in it and change the numbers to whatever you need and save it.
Then re-install it in your IRD with the new numbers

Milli also has detailed instructions on how to use these in the files as well if you need them.
