box key shuffle

Recently there was a user here trying to use the same box keys on a 301 and a 501 IRD - to make his Magic card easily movable between the two IRD's.

Was he successful? Anyone here recall that thread?

all you have to do is take your flash and open it up in the program called flash edit. then change the box key and receiver id to match the other receiver and then save it. then reflash the new flash you created back into the receiver and that should work just fine. make sure you save an original copy of your flash saved just in case you screw something up. you can always easily go back to original as long as you hang on to the original flash.

I tried to match 2 501s last weekend did just what you said midwest But HD didnt marry, reciever worked fine but no PVR operation, have to go virgin and zero HD. Went back to my saved flash eveything ok again, will do it when I have time to mess with HD. I suggest you change the 301 to match the 5xx save the remarry step.
