BEV 2700 to DISH conversion

NEWBIE QUESTIONS


I have been told that I must insert my BELL ROM10 card in the reciever in order to convert the IRD to DISH. Is that correct?

I will be purchasing either an ATMEGA or MAGIC CARD w/programmer and jtag extractor. Could I use either of these cards to convert my 2700 to DISH?

If I use the BEV rom 10 card to convert, will the card get converted to DISH?

My goal is to not alter or use the BEV card in any way even in the slightest in case I want or have to go back to BEV in future. How do I go about doing that.

I know that there is a separate forum for this, but which is better ATMEGA or MAGIC CARD.

1. You're in the wrong forum.

2. However, to convert from Bev to Dish, your Dish has to be pointed to a Dish Bird to download the firmware first.

3. Your Bev card has to be re-written with a Dish card image.

4. You can't convert your card to Dish without modifying it.
