Has anyone actually reflashed a 301.13 with the new AR-105-C lock flash?
My 301.13 reboots every 80 minutes. It always comes back to the same channel but it does get somewhat annoying. The documentation included with the 10/31/04 New Temporary Flash Files states that installing it will not auto reset to the same channel and may cause the IRD togo into a continuous reboot loop. That sounds like exactly where I am already.

Is it worth installing the flash or should I wait for the permanent fix? I don't want to make it worse.

Thanks!

I wholeheartedly agree. That's why I was asking.

Anytime I have a problem with any model receiver using the AR105 series of locks I do this.

Get the virgin firmware for the model and build of receiver.

Modifiy it with flashedit putting my boxkeys and ird number in. Making sure to check the fix CRC box.

Make a virgin eeprom image with the new flash I just made with flashedit.

Flash both the TSOP and eeprom with the images created.

Hook up the receiver unlocked and let it stream update.

After updating in the stream relock and watch tv.
This generally eliminates any likely problems with the lock.

Having said that though I think rebooting every 80 minutes is most likely something on the cam that is being hit. Try taking off any PPV. Then run it for awhile. If you get no 80 minute reboot you need to modify the ppv string. Other targets might be the camid. Although that would usually be more frequent hit wise.
