When I switched over from DTV to DISH last week, I was able to pick up DISH 110 and 119 sats (about 80 signal level) WITHOUT adjusting the position of the oval dish.
Then all of a sudden, the 119 sat disappeared from the sky last night. No dish movement, no bad weather, no bird drops, and no obstructing trees.
Question: How likely is my problem caused by dish positioning?
I'm using a phase III DTV dish and no probs here... Maybe a bad lnb or switch

Turned out to be a bad LNB. How likely does an LNB go bad for no apparent reason? Cuz' my DTV worked for years and as soon as I hooked up a DP301/SW21, bam, died in a week.
Btw, I left the +13V unconnected, is there anything that can put the dual LNB at risk?
Any insight is much appreciated.

Rax isn't the pashe II the one with an interna DTV switch? If so, how did you get around it?

Damn it, I spoke too soon. I don't have a bad LNB. I got both 119 and 110 sat when I put the "bad" 119 LNB back in the 110 slot. A few hours later the 119 sat disappeared again. As soon as I swapped the 110 and 119 LNBs, both sats showed up.
Could it be a flakey DP301-13 receiver?

might even be a bad cable

what drives me nuts is that once the 119 sat disappears, it's gone. I did try different cables and with/without switch.
The LNB seems to be stuck and becomes unstuck only if it's placed in the 110 slot.
