Ground jtag pad 1 . You may also need to pull off the cover and ground r79. After you open jkeys and choose your model receiver click on flash programming and then unplug receiver. You should have a vid-mod on this receiver, so turn the switch on before plugging back in. After plugging in click ok and you should be able to make sure your flash is fully erased and write a new one.

After you try to erase the flash once you won't get the boxkeys anymore. Go through the steps again and erase 3-4 times and you'll be able to reflash. You may have to close out jkeys and open back up to get it to work.

yes, just make sure you wait until ird is unplugged before turning on vidmod and also make sure vidmod is turned off before putting ird into data stream. Do you have a tsop/eeprom lock to protect against further ecms?

What if you have a dual TSOP 301-013 and you get the same error message when trying to erase flash 2? I have tried for a week to reflash a dual 301 and have tried about everything but it still wont reflash. I get to 99% then get an message that says: Error programming flash at offset 0x7fffff4c. I have no problem programming flash 1 or the eeprom back to ird, just on flash 2....

Thanks,
Nick

No vid mod on the two IC model of the 301. That only applies to the single 4 meg model.

The two ic models were never locked.

Since your getting a 99% on the flash try eraseing sa15 in flash 2 after programming to 99%. Then stream update. Charlie may be a bear in many respects but his firmware is good about fixing itself. Worth a shot.

Or try flashing a old or virgin image to the tsop's. Also make sure you flash a virgin image to the eeprom before stream updating whatever method you choose.

I will give it a shot. Not sure if it will work cuz after trying to reflash, when I go back and click detect I get Box keys: FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF and all 0 for ird #.
I do get the build config.,model id# and sofware version but no bootstrap.

In that case you need to do two things. Pick up a copy of a earlier version of your build and model flash from dssftp.com. Next pick up flashedit2 from the same site.

Use flashedit to modifiy the boxkeys and ird then try flashing the TSOP's again then stream update. Don't forget to check the fix CRC box in flash edit after entering your own boxkeys and ird numbers.

You won't have to erase the sector if you get a good flash with a earlier version of the firmware for your receiver. You can get the build of the firmware from the sticker on the PCB board. Four letters on the sticker gives the build.

Follow the instructions found in a few of the 301.13 posts and also above and yuo will be able to reflash.

On the 2 tsop 301.13 you need to erase and reflash flash 2 first, then you can erase flash 1.
