After the ECM, I fixed the receiver using JKeys to get DISH to restore the TSOP (erased SA49 (also tried SA50) to force the update). It worked perfectly on my other 301, but this one didn't. After I get DISH to restore it, I unplug it and then plug it back in...w/o doing anything, it turns off (after the inital on when you plug in the receiver), turns on to the "insert card" screen, then a few seconds later goes to the diagnostic screen (shows signal strength and what not). This is all w/o inserting the card or anything. When I try to insert the card, the receiver just shows black and turns on and off by itself...w/o me pressing the power button on the receiver or the remote.
I can make a copy of the TSOP on my other receiver. Would loading this TSOP on the bad receiver fix it?
I checked all the solder points for the vid mod and all is fine. The box keys and ird id are fine, as well as the camid. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks a lot.

What SA sector did you erase on the 301-013?
I update my receivers with the dummy card in at all times.

I update my receivers with the dummy card in at all times.
Just edited my first post...but I erased SA49 and SA50. That's what I did on the other one and that update worked fine. I'm using a max/mel setup...din't have the dummy card in there when I updated on either.

To Update SoftWare follow these steps:It is also used for ECM repair!
Plug receiver into outlet and power off on the receiver itself -
1- Have dummy card in the card slot(leave dummuy card in until the update is finished)and Open JKeys
2- jkeys will detect your box keys and ird number
3- click on flash programming, remove power, reconnect and click on OK in 3 seconds(301-010 receivers do not require the reconnect)
4-(Skip this if you already have a backup of TSOP) in the next screen, in FULL, click READ and save a dump of your tsop
5- click on the arrow near FULL, there you will find the sectors or SA, select the one that correspond to your ird's model:
2700 = address SA5 (512 k tsop)
2800 = address SA5 (512 k tsop)
3700 = address SA5 (512 k tsop)
3800 = address SA30 (2 meg tsop)
3900 = address SA30 (2 meg tsop)
4700 = address SA30 (2 meg tsop)
4900 = address SA30 (2 meg tsop)
301.010 = address SA3 or SA 8 flash1(2x2 tsops)
301.013 = address SA18 flash2(2x2 tsops)
301.013 = address SA50 (1x4 tsop) jkeys2.9.9b
501/508 = address SA54 or SA52 (2x4 tsops) P168 firmware is SA60 in Flash2
6- click on ERASE 5 times or more
7- close jkeys, connect the ird to the satellite feed with the cam(dummy Card)and wait 15 to 20 minutes
8- LED will go out when update is finished.

Yep, that's one of the guides I looked at...the other being the one at bellexpressvu. I'll see what happens when I try it w/ the dummy card in.

I followed this guide exactly, both with a dummy card in and one out (I had the dummy card out on my other receiver). I erased SA50, then unplug the receiver and remove the JTAG. I then plug the sat into the receiver and plug the receiver back in. It sits there for about 15 min or so with the light on (all good so far). Then it goes off, but only for 20 sec or so before the receiver turns back on by itself and shows the "obtaining satelite signal...process 0 of 5" thing. It then just sits there like that forever. So, I unplug the receiver and plug it back in. If the board is in the receiver, it just shows black until I take the board out, then it shows the error 21 (insert card). Put the card back in and the screen goes black and the light goes off. Pull it out, shows that message and light comes back on. I've tried everything, what can I do???? Thanks for all the help so far.

Does you 301-013 have 1 Tsop or 2 Tsop?
Are you trying to use the receiver for BEV?
I thought I read the 301-013 wouldn't work for BEV. Check that out.

It has one TSOP and I'm using it for DISH.

Well I got it fixed finally. I erased the TSOP and programmed it with my TSOP from the other receiver. I first edited the other TSOP with flashedit to put in the boxkeys and IRD ID. So all works now. Thanks for all the tips guys.
