Bell Software Changes

Im relatively new to the Bev world and I was wondering is gonna happen on August 5th when they start implementing the changes to the software at 91 degrees.What are the cons of allowing the software to download onto your reciever.We hooked up a friends Bev last night and after I locked on the signal,it went to some download screen with a warning not to shut off the power.Well then believe it or not there was a power outage and when we tried to power his reciever back up its a black screen with nothing.Anythoughts!. If you download the software it will get a lock on your card as unsubbed and put it down is that correct!

By not having the current firmware, you'll probably not be able to get all the available channels. The only 'Cons' by accepting new upgrades is that BEV maybe be sending an anti-pirating codes that will attack AVR, ATmega, etc. I personally accept ALL new FW to see what happens. After all, we are 'testing'. If need be, I can always revert back to any previous FW by using my Jtag.

As for your bud's rcvr, have you left it in the stream long enough to let it continue to download the FW? If yes and still no go, hook up your Jtag and erase the specific SA address (to your IRD model) and let it update like that.

CAM status (subbed or not subbed) has nothing to do with IRD firmware...

Thanks for all your help.I really appreciate your knowledge in the forementioned problem.My buddys reciever is working.I guess it came back up after the download.One last question please I have a 3500 model reciever and I was wondering what channels the Nfl Sunday ticket come on.Right now they dont show in the guide.Will that mean I wont get them.Its a open rom 3 card.Thanks again!

I'm not sure BEV carries the NFL ticket Sundays. I know Charlie does!

As you say chappy,bev doesn't carry a so called "NFL ticket",they only show a few games,basically 2 @1:00pm and 2@ 4:00pm..and 1 in the evening and a monday night game...their screening of football sucks.

Thanks fellas So it looks like only Dave has Sunday Nfl Ticket on Dtv.Do you guys know if the kayiman act has football.I have a act script but I wannna add the tiers for my Sunday games.

Dish carry's some games as like bev,DTV is the NFL TICKET carrier
