Will older receivers be made obsolete by Nagra 2 stream?

I SHOULD know the answer to this but I don't... I have alot of older receivers and was curious if I should look for a 301.013 for when the stream switch comes?-Assuming a hack is found and THEY would work if vid modded... The OLDER receivers will no longer work at that point, correct?

3200's are slated for swaps, All the rest will be fine. Eventually I think 71/7200/1000/and some grey boxes, But no dealer inside memos at this time other than 3200. Nagra 2 cards work in all ird's tested here from 2700 up. For grins I'll try it on a 1000 later but sure it will be fine also.

birdie, i read your post. i have a 3200 thats not in use now. who is doing a swap. ? any particular dealer or dishnet itself ? where would someone search to find out about these offers ? lots of questions.
i guess from ur post, the 3200 will not work with nagra2.

just woundering aint there a axtel speed crystal in all boxes?? if so by changeing crystal speed should be enough i could be way off base here

A letter that came across my friends dealer desk had stated to hold the 3200 and not intall any as they had no plans to convert those to Nagra2 at this time, About all he said. Dishnet may exchange irds, But it is usually done by a dealer coming in to handle the swap.

Seen lots of 3900's using Nagra2's already.

Yeah I also wonder if the 7200 will be updated to work with nagra2. Lets hope so since I really like the 7200 PVR.

As far as I see, Any IRD will work fine with a nagra 2, Remember, The tsop updates reprogram the receiver. We had to reverse some of the newer models to even work with a nagra 1 with the " Vid mod". I am sure a 3200 even would work fine with a nagra 2 as well as a 71/7200. The issue seems more to be in the 3200 that some loophole exists that Dnet doesn't want exposed regarding running nagra 2 in them thus no new installs with that model. The swap letter was regarding new dealer stock not being used ( Virgin). Remember all existing customers have a upgrade option available for free now to better new gear if they turn in the old sub units and either upgrade to credit card autopay without a commitment or sub to at least the top 60 with locals for a year now which also gets them a free superdish that costs dealers 189 bucks.

yes i think maybe changeing a speed crystal will work as thts the key i woould think on these old 3500 lots them suckers around to test and burn up lol
