Just want the Guide. Get 015 error.

Ifound a 3000 receiver in the trash. Bought a yellow card from Ebay. I just want to get the dish guide. All I get is the 015 "Acquiring satellite signal error" In Setup, the sat signal is 105 on transponder 6, so left it at that.

Does this receiver have to take updates from the stream, or is the yellow card not going to work with this receiver? Again, all I want is the guide.

The 3000 and yellow card are not going to work for you. Why only the guide?

Because I am using a FTA receiver and they don't have an on-screen guide. Will any blue card work?

OK I guess that's a reason. You would have to program a blue card before you will get anything. There is information that the card needs to match with the receiver. If you put the blue card in the receiver without the proper programming you won't get anything or Dave will ECM the card. Can you get the guides from online, or a friend, there must be a better way?

Yes, I can get the guide over the internet by going to the TV Guide site, but I was curious about posts on the FTA forum that say you can get the guide on a dish receiver with a card that does not have to be subbed.
If I understand you correctly, I would have to have a blue card and go through extracting keys and buying equipment to program the card and/or do something to the receiver.
