Internal Gunther's MAXMEL?

I was thinking of building an internal version of one of Gunther's MAXMEL board based on the maxschem.PNG sticky thread. I have all the parts needed.

Are there any reasons why this could not be done? I can solder pretty good and can follow directions, I've also built and soldered many DaveTV SLE EMU's with the single MC1489 design.

Currently I have a Simple JTAG (5 100 ohm resistors) soldered to my 3900 IRD and I have all that info.

If I eliminate the LED's is there any need to keep the 10uf cap at LED1?
Or should I build the design with the LED's? I just didn't see any advantage with led's if this was an internal EMU or would the LED's give me some problem solving info if needed?

You could also build the single chip emu found in a Sticky on dsshelper.
I built it in 15 minutes and it works great- just make sure you use the flash
in the Thread(copy into notepad and name it .hex)
It was so simple and I used the same type of board I used with DTV(from radio shack).
It only needs a Atmel Chip. AT90S2313-10PI is what I use

Dude! Thanks for the tip on the one chip, I got it soldered up and I read through the thread.

Which .hex are you using, is it the one on page 6 of the thread?. Could you post it or PM me with it?

This is the Hex I used for my 1 chip Emu- Highlight - Right Click & Copy.
Paste it in notepad(when you go to name it make sure you change from Text to All) and name it 381.hex
