Blacklist Updater/Downloader

I have both a Blacklist STB Updater (1.4.0) and I also have an exe file called "2300_2500_1500 Downloader.exe" ..... Whats the difference between these two executables (if any). Is one of them just a much older version than the other, and which one do you guys use, recommend and think is better in terms of reliability. Thanx

Hi!

Use the one your most comfortable with and your used to,I use the Al7bar tool loader myself since I started flashing mine always worked for me .
Does the same thing just has different name on the button you press.

The first is a modified loader done by blacklist and the 2nd loader is the modified al7bar loader. Both work well although they do not contain any built in safety features as does the pansat factory loader. The bl loader is a more current version although both will do the same thing in downloading files to your receiver. Be sure to read any howto that comes with the tools and know what you are doing as to type file being flashed and to what. Mistakes in flashing can be difficult to fix.

Hound, if u start at the top I know (we be talking loaders) u will SEE he said he had 2 updaters and all I was telling him is to make sure he puts the rite bin on after he chooses one of them. U did miss something.LOL

I had assumed you were advising him not to use the"bl2" bin file which is for the 1500A in the Bl v2.37 update package and I seen no reference by him saying his type of pansat.

Thanks hound for letting me know which file to use. As for (a little humor flopped) in a big way with me. I was ASSUMING if he just joined in NOV 2004 he would have one of the newer models. I also ASSUMED that if he has updater 1.40 that he was going to try 237. Sorry bdk, just want to help u but if I have to get into a p-----g contest with replys I won't bother any more. Snowman

the blacklist updaters probably are easier to use because you dont have to input the correct model name for the reciever just the bin file then flash the reciever

I agree with xwolf, I have been useing al7bar loader since I got my pansat to flash & never had a prob. What ever works for u stay with it.

Hi! you can`t just flash any bin or you will end off with an expensive door stopper
it must be some kind of clone.
there should be some name on the front or back label.

myself I buy brand name models only and from a authorized dealer either pansat or fortec star.by buying from dealer you have a warrenty on it.

Even when you turn you machine on on screen it should say mofel type.

but best bet is to stick with the known working models like pansat 2500a or fortec star lifetime & ultra and some blackbird models but for the prices you can get pansat2500a or fortec ulttra`s for reall good deals and lots of help here to get them up and running.
