Dumbest question ever asked ???

Hi All,

This may sound very dumb but cannot progress without asking the experts.

i have a 3900 receiver and based on reading i know that i does have a jtag port.
Now i am unable to open the receiver to see the port how does we connect is there a hole in back of receiver etc

any help is appreciated

Hi bud...jtag port is on the bottom of the receiver. It Measures 3/8 x 1 3/8 inches, and you will see a set of solder contacts in it, 7 on one side, and a single long contact on the other side.

There is a hole on the bottom of the case. Check out bellexpress.vu and read pretty much all the how-to's but the parts that pertain to your question are the jtagging and ECM repair portions. Don't ever feel stupid about asking a question. It's how we learn. Please though, do try and do as much reading as you can before you ask. Get the newbie guides too. This hobby is pretty easy, but there is a learning curve. There is a lot of reading to be done if your a newbie.
