need help with Fortec Ultra,,paleeeeze!

canot get this Fortec to work,asked several times on the forums ,but no one answers..have downloaded Working 4 channel list and flashed with Ultra 040920_247 api (NTSC),i get either blank screen ,scrambled or bad channel or data is beeing downloaded..a few channels come in,even Playboy..what am i doing wrong???
My Pansat 2500A works great..would really appreciate info on this matter.
a setup instruction for Fortec would help.have one for Pansat and it is peace of cake..thanks in advance...patoloco

The file is zipped and they are in word format. If you dont have word, download the acrobat reader off the net. It is free and will allow you view the files and print them. :p hound

Here is a link to what you need to set up your 2500 benjilu. Pickup the revised testing manual for the 2500 on the 4th post in thread. The current flash bin already contains the keys in the flash, you just need to turn it on. You will not be able to access the code section unless you have loaded a channel list. :p hound

Little tut on how to post link: With browser open at site you want to link to...go to address bar showing the url you want to copy. right click on it, click copy, go to post your are writing, left click where you want to insert link, then right click, click paste.

Evidently, the combining of the two parts into one folder and zipped may be causing some problems to some zip programs when you try to open the folder while it is in the winzip window or open option in download window. i am still confused after i unzipped ,both came up as wordpad files in my documents and won't open.please give me step by step..thanks
by the way "chito" sent me the revised 247 api file and it works great,after days of struggling and frustration..it is a friends Fortec,i like my Pansat it is more userfriendly...Pato(not so) loco anymore

thx pato and jchound, i will dl everything and wait for my pansat in mail, i just can't wait...looks like an earyly christmas. hey, how long has fta been around i don't remember reading about it when i tried to program charlie access cards. and is it really as good as the websites say it is, in terms of how long b/4 we need to reflash ird and no other hardware needed? i have dishpro500 dish do i need to load a special channel guide., thx in advance. ben

Good luck benjilu when your unit arrives. Fta has been around for a while, the dish thing for little over a year and yes it is as good as you hear. Time before reflashes can vary but will say you will watch more tv rather than messing with your receiver as compared to access cards. I never had a problem before. Im going to try using Pansats 1500 2300 2500 loader and see how that works out ill let you know.. what one are you using??

i was ready to throw this reciever away,but Chito sent me a great tool here it is try it it worked for me... patoloco

i finally got it flashed... while trying to flash it got corrupted so I had to flash with the factory bin file and then i loaded the boot then the 247 bin and ch. list. I have flashed many and never had a problem... first time for every thing...
I used the al7 updater to do all
I don't know what to tell you other than keep trying

enter key:global (no spaces) as the stb model type. then put the 247 in bin
now were cooking!

ok lets step back and take a breather..
you have a fortec lifetime ultra
you downloaded the correct file for ultra the 247. bin
you have a new cable from rat shack straight thru not null
it's plugged into com port 1 then to the ultra
you turn on the ird and it boots and says on?
you open the downloader and type in key:global as stb model
you put the 247 in bin.
you hit download and wait not just to 100% but dwn load complete.

how am i doing so far?

These units run on cards like Rom 3,10 or Titanium or Magic card. There is NO Way of flashing it.But will work IF Nagra2 is hacked
